AN ABSOLUTELY STUNNING RARE, RARE EVENING GOWN BY ANDREA ODICINI - AMEN WARDY FROM ITALY - HE IS CONSIDERED BY ITALIAN WOMAN TO BE THE EQUAL TO VALENTINO & BY SOME, ABOVE - HIS EXQUISITE EVEING GOWNS WERE VERY EXPENSIVE BUT THEY WERE MADE WITH THE FINEST FABRICS & WITH FABULOUS DETAILING - THEY WERE PURCHASED BY ONLY THE ELITE & HE WOULD CHOOSE WHO WOULD BUY ONE IF HIS CREATIONS - OVER THE YEARS, I HAVE BEEN FORTUNATE TO OBTAIN A PINK GODDESS ONE-SHOULDER PEIGNOIR & NIGHTGOWN SET BY HIM IN ADDITION TO A GORGEOUS EVENING JACKET WHICH IS SHOWN UNDER "SWEATERS & JACKETS" - THIS GORGEOUS EVENING GOWN IS OUT OF 100% SILK IN APRICOT - THERE IS BEAUTIFUL DRAPING ON THE BODICE WHICH OVERLAPS & IS CAUGHT WITH HUGE (ABOUT AS BIG AS A SALAD PLATE!) BEAD ENCRUSTED FLOWERS MEASURE 9” X 10” - A SEPARATE LONG DRAPE IS OVER THE DRAPED SKIRT ON THE EVENING GOWN FOR A DRAMATIC LOOK - THE RUCHED CUMMERBUND COMES AROUND THE SIDE & THE BACK & FASTENS WITH SILK COVERED SNAPS UNDER THE LARGE DECORATION - THERE IS A WIDE BELT INSIDE THE DRESS TO PULL YOU IN WHICH HAS HOOKS & EYES TO FASTEN - LONG METAL ZIPPER IN THE BACK - LITTLE SILK RIBBON STRAPS AT THE SHOULDERS WITH SNAPS TO HOLD YOUR BRA STRAPS IN PLACE - FRENCH SEAMS INSIDE THE GOWN SO ONE’S SKIN WILL GET CHAFFED FROM THE RAW SEAM - LOTS OF HAND STITCHING ON THE EVENING GOWN - THE EVENING GOWN IS VERY HEAVY BECAUSE THE BODICE & THE SKIRT OF THE EVENING ARE OUT OF DOUBLE SILK SO THE SAME SILK ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE GOWN IS INSIDE AS WELL - FABULOUS DETAILING! - JUST A GORGEOUS & EXTREMELY RARE EVENING GOWN BY ODICINI FROM THE ‘50s

Hips: 52 stretched tight but you do not want to stretch it completely to the max as it is supposed to drape

Fabric:Very heavy 100% Silk
Care: Dry clean
Condition: Very good - hem line slightly faded but it is so far down no one could ever tell - light soiling on the hemline which a cleaning will remove - one end of the cummerbund needs some stitches to reattach more securely - cleaners can do this or it will take you 2 minutes if that

We examine each item carefully and note any imperfections, but unless an item is said to be NEW, please don't expect it to be perfect.  Please remember that unless specified all items have been used and will show varying signs of use/wear.  We always list the obvious staining/spotting/discoloration and damage/defects to the best of our abilities. However, some slight imperfections that will not show or affect wearing/using the item may slip by or not be considered worth mentioning. I do not wash them in the machine. I wash them in lukewarm water with Woolite or some other mild soap, rinse & hang dripping wet in the shower.

Since these are vintage items, a bit of extra care needs to be taken with them so they remain beautiful & I DEFINITELY would never put a vintage nightgown or a peignoir in the dryer as it would ruin it.

The items are sold as we find them. We do not dry clean, launder, alter or repair vintage clothing and they should be cleaned or washed upon arrival. Please make your selection carefully & check the measurements as there is no return on clothing.
