VINTAGE '70s BILL BLASS SAKS FIFTH AVENUE ILLUSION EVENING GOWN
AN ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS VINTAGE EVENING GOWN FROM BILL BLASS SOLD AT SAKS FIFTH AVENUE - THE LABEL IS IDENTIAL TO A 1970s EVENING GOWN LABEL ON THE VINTAGE FASHION GUILD’S RESOURCE LABEL SITE - THERE ARE HORIZONTAL STRIPS OF SHEER BLACK NYLON WITH NUDE NYLON UNDER IT FOR THE ILLUSION LOOK SO SKIN CAN SHOW THROUGH, VELVET & WOOL - I HAVE LIGHTENED THE PHOTOS SO THE DETAIL AS TO THE HORIZONTAL STRIPS OF FABRIC ON THE SKIRT CAN BE SHOWN BUT IT IS ACTUALLY VERY DARK BLACK - THE BAND OF FABRIC ACROSS THE BUSTLINE IS BLACK VELVET & BELOW MORE SHEER FOR A PEEK OF SKIN - IT IS THEN FOLLOWED BY BLACK WOOL & THEN ALTERNATES WITH VELVET, WOOL & BLACK SATIN - THE BACK IS JUST AS BEAUTIFUL - THERE IS AN INVISIBLE ZIPPER WHICH STARTS AT THE WAIST & GOES DOWN - ABOVE THAT ARE 3 BUTTONS & LOOPS ON THE VELVET BAND WITH OPEN SLITS ABOVE & BELOW FOR A GLIMPSE OF SKIN - FULLY LINED - THERE IS A VERY LARGE PLEAT AT THE BACK BOTTOM - IT IS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS & YOU JUST DON’T SEE EVENING GOWNS THIS BEAUTIFUL & SOPHISTICATED ANYMORE

Fabric: No tag but nylon for the illusion fabric, satin, wool & velvet Condition: Very good - on one sleeve in back where the nylon illusion fabric joins the back of the dress has separated about 1-½" in the seam which the cleaners can resew
Care: No tag but dry clean
We examine each item carefully and note any imperfections, but unless an item is said to be NEW, please don't expect it to be perfect. Please remember that unless specified all items have been used and will show varying signs of use/wear. We always list the obvious staining/spotting/discoloration and damage/defects to the best of our abilities. However, some slight imperfections that will not show or affect wearing/using the item may slip by or not be considered worth mentioning. I do not wash them in the machine. I wash them in lukewarm water with Woolite or some other mild soap, rinse & hang dripping wet in the shower.
Since these are vintage items, a bit of extra care needs to be taken with them so they remain beautiful & I DEFINITELY would never put a vintage nightgown or a peignoir in the dryer as it would ruin it.
The items are sold as we find them. We do not dry clean, launder, alter or repair vintage clothing and they should be cleaned or washed upon arrival. Please make your selection carefully & check the measurements as there is no return on clothing.
