JUST AN ADORABLE ‘30s / ‘40s QUILTED RAYON TAFFETA FLORAL BIAS-CUT GRAND SWEEP DRESSING GOWN ADORNED WITH A HUGH SASH – THE ROBE IS HEAVY & THERE ARE NO TAGS AS TO THE FABRIC CONTENT BUT IT FEELS LIKE A RAYON TAFFETA IN A LOVELY CORAL SHADE
THERE ARE TINY SPRIGS OF FLOWERS SCATTERED OVER THE ROBE – PLEATS IN THE SAME SILVERY GRAY ENCIRCLE THE NECK & GO DOWN THE FRONT OF THE BODICE – THERE IS A SNAP AT THE TOP OF THE BODICE & ONE AT THE WAIST - THE SLEEVES ARE HUGE BABY DOLL SLEEVES WITH A LOT OF GATHERS AT THE TOP WHICH MAKE THEM EVEN FULL & THEY ARE JUST ADORABLE
A VERY LONG WIDE SASH IN TAFFETA CIRCLES THE WAIST WITH LOOPS FOR CLOSURE – THE CIRCUMFERENCE OF THE ROBE IS 166” OR NEARLY 14 FEET OF FABRIC IN THE BIAS-CUT SKIRT - INSIDE TIES
THE ENTIRE DRESSING GOWN IS LINED IN THE SAME SHADE OF TAFFETA AS THE PLEATS & SASH – IT IS A HEAVY ROBE WITH THE QUILTING & LINING – JUST A GORGEOUS VINTAGE ‘30s / ‘40s QUILTED RAYON TAFFETA FLORAL DRESSING GOWN IN CORAL & GRAY

Size: No tag – I am a size 10 & the sleeves were too small for me to get on so I would say it is for a size 4 or 6 but go by the measurements for a good fit

Waist: 26 with the snaps snapped & will give another couple of inches – there is an overlap of the front of the robe so the snaps could be moved over a bit if needed

Care: No tag so I would dry clean
Condition: Very good – there is a ½” stain near the hem – light soiling on the hemline which should come off with a cleaning but no one could see it that far down anyhow

Vintage nightgowns & peignoirs may be delicate so I do not wash them in the machine. I wash them in lukewarm water with Woolite or some other mild soap, rinse & hang dripping wet in the shower.
Since these are vintage items, a bit of extra care needs to be taken with them so they remain beautiful & I DEFINITELY would never put a vintage nightgown or a peignoir in the dryer as it would ruin it.
The items are sold as we find them. We do not dry clean, launder, alter or repair vintage clothing and they should be cleaned or washed upon arrival. Please make your selection carefully & check the measurements as there is no return on clothing or other items.
