*VINTAGE 1980's DESIGNER HUGE BOW BODICE SILK EVENING GOWN WITH ATTACHED CRINOLINE

A fabulous vintage designer evening gown with a fabulous huge bow bodice in black jaquard silk sprinkled with beige dots. When the fabric is moved from side to side, you can see black dots woven into the fabric for a beautiful look.

The construction of the evening gown is wonderful and I know this evening gown is from a well known designer as most manufacturers will not take the time for this type of detailing.

The bodice of the evening gown is spectacular with a huge 6-fold gigantic bow.  There are numerous rows of ruching under that that extend below the waist for a wasp-waist look.  The bodice is lined with another lining in between the silk of the dress and the interior lining to give the bodice shape.

The voluminous skirt is lined in a sheer silk organza with a black net attached crinoline with a large flounce on it.  Under that is another silky lining that so the net will not scratch one's legs.

There is a 13" zipper in the back with a hook and eye at the top.  There are 2 half of snaps and a hook which probably once held a stole in place that is no longer with the evening gown.

The silk is luscious and and dress is somewhat heavy because of all the ruching and huge bow on the dress.

Absolutely gorgeous - you rarely see exquisite evening gowns like this any more!

Size: 8 but it is on my size 6 model & I could not get it zipped all the way in back as shown in the photo so it is definitely not a size 8 but smaller than a size 6 which my model is.  I could not zip up the back so this Is for a very small person.  Go by the measurements for a good fit.

The measurements of the DRESS FORM are:

Bust: 34.2 Inches
Waist: 25.2 Inches
Hips: 35.7 Inches.

The following measurements are the measurements of the EVENING GOWN so your measurements need to be smaller than the measurements shown in order to get into the dress.

Care Instructions

We examine each item carefully and note any imperfections, but unless an item is said to be new, please don't expect it to be perfect & even some new items have small imperfections. I will always state in the description if there are any imperfections & I never do repairs but leave them to others who are better able to do them than me as that is not my expertise.

Please remember that unless specified all items have been used and will show varying signs of use or wear. We always list the obvious imperfections to the best of our abilities. However, some slight imperfections that will not show or affect wearing or using the item may slip by or not be considered worth mentioning.

Vintage nightgowns & peignoirs may be delicate so I do not wash them in the machine. I wash them in lukewarm water with Woolite or some other mild soap, then rinse & hang dripping wet in the shower.

Since these are vintage items, a bit of extra care needs to be taken with them so they remain beautiful & I definitely would never put a vintage nightgown or a peignoir in the dryer as it would ruin it.

The items are sold as we find them. We do not dry clean, launder, alter or repair vintage clothing and they should be cleaned or washed upon arrival. Please make your selection carefully & check the measurements as there is no return on clothing or other items.
